Alternatives to the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit

Ian DuncanFounder, Axiom Flux and AxiomAIReviewed 6 min read

In brief

The usual reason to look past the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit is its per-domain price. Axiom GEO prices by plan rather than by domain, so several sites or clients sit under one monthly bill, and it adds answer accuracy checks, Claude, and UK rank tracking in the same login. SE Ranking, Otterly, Ahrefs, Peec AI and Profound are the other common options.

Key points

  • Semrush lists the toolkit at £80.22 a month per domain on yearly billing, with 25 prompts tracked daily across ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity, with no Claude listed.
  • Per-domain pricing is the main reason agencies look elsewhere, since the cost rises with every client.
  • Axiom GEO prices by plan: Growth covers 3 sites and Agency covers up to 10 client workspaces, with no charge per check.
  • Axiom GEO checks each claim in an AI answer against a fact sheet you approve. Semrush's pages do not list an accuracy check.

There is a longer head-to-head in Axiom GEO vs Semrush.

What the toolkit offers

The toolkit sits inside Semrush, so AI answers and classic SEO can share one bill. It costs £80.22 a month per domain on yearly billing, tracks 25 custom prompts daily, and reports mentions from ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity, with no Claude listed.

Where it falls short

Cost is the big one. The price is per domain, so it grows with every client or brand you add. 25 tracked prompts is a small set for a business with several services or towns to cover. Semrush's pages list no check on whether answers are correct, and Claude is not in the engine list on the pricing page.

What Axiom GEO does that the Semrush toolkit does not

None of these are listed on the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit pages.

  • Answer accuracy grades each claim as correct, partly true, wrong, out of date or not covered against a fact sheet you approve. When an engine cites nothing, a source finder hunts down the page that said it.
  • Every fix gets measured. Accuracy issues, content gaps and new questions become tasks in work management with a baseline, and the platform checks back later to see whether the issue cleared or visibility rose.
  • Google reviews come in daily for every location. Tag each one to the campaign or salesperson that earned it, and there is an AI draft reply waiting.
  • The local citations audit reads each live directory listing and flags any where your name, address or phone number is wrong.
  • The entity audit rebuilds the entity graph your structured data publishes and shows where the links break. The schema generator then writes the JSON-LD to fix it.
  • Share of voice is weighted by where you appear in each answer, because being named first is worth more than being named fifth. Your average position sits next to every competitor's, and a 0-100 prominence score rolls position, recommendations, citations and sentiment into one number.
  • Reddit insights picks out the subreddits AI engines cite in your topic, using answers you already track.
  • QA Finder mixes People Also Ask, Google autocomplete and Reddit with your own enquiries and call notes, so the prompts you track are the questions buyers really ask you.
  • You pay one monthly price per plan, in pounds, and it covers several sites. Nothing is charged per check, per domain or per credit.

Everything else, in the same login

Axiom GEO also does the rest of the job, so you do not need a second tool:

  • Rank tracking goes to position 30 and down to town level in the UK, with a weekly AI Overview check that keeps every source Google cited.
  • Your backlinks, link gap and prospect pipeline are in the same account.
  • AI visibility tracking covers ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews, and can collect answers as the ChatGPT and Gemini apps show them.
  • Citation tracking lists the domains and pages each engine cites, sorted by type, and shows which of your own URLs get picked.
  • AI crawler analytics reads your server logs to show which AI bots visit and what they fetch.
  • AI traffic analytics pulls the visits AI engines send you out of GA4 and Search Console and puts them next to your organic numbers.
  • Content opportunities rank what to write or fix next. Content packs turn a buyer question into ready-to-paste HTML with FAQ schema.
  • The page audit runs 59 checks on each page, from on-page SEO and schema to E-E-A-T and GEO signals, and marks every one pass or fail.
  • Topic gaps show the parts of your subject that engines link to a competitor instead of you.
  • Multi-market tracking runs the same prompts in each country or region and splits share of voice by market.
  • Each client gets a separate workspace with its own logins, and client reports carry the client's logo.
  • A read-only API feeds your data into Google Sheets and Looker Studio.

Axiom GEO, our pick

Growth costs £500 a month plus VAT and covers 3 sites and 100 prompts a week. Professional is £799 for 5 sites. Agency, at £1,499, covers up to 10 client workspaces and 350 prompts a week. Adding a site inside your plan does not add to the bill, so the more sites you run, the further ahead of per-domain pricing you get.

Answer accuracy is included on every plan and shows when an engine gets your facts wrong, and which page it got them from. Share of voice is weighted by position. Rankings to town level anywhere in the UK, weekly AI Overview checks, reviews and client reports are in the same account. See Axiom GEO pricing.

SE Ranking

An SEO platform with AI tracking added. Its AI Search add-on costs from £55.20 a month on yearly billing, on top of a plan, and runs prompts on Google's AI answers and ChatGPT only.

Otterly

Priced in dollars, from $29 a month for 15 prompts, with Gemini, AI Mode and Claude as add-ons.

Ahrefs' AI index, Brand Radar

Ahrefs' AI index, from €179 a month, with a few custom prompts on paid plans from Lite.

Peec AI and Profound

Peec AI is priced in euros and lets you choose models per plan. Profound lists up to nine engines on Enterprise and prices on request. See our Profound alternatives page.

So which one?

If the per-domain price is what is pushing you away from Semrush, Axiom GEO puts several sites under one plan price, and adds accuracy checks, Claude and UK rank tracking that the toolkit does not list. It is built for agencies with several clients and for brands that need AI engines to get their facts right. See Axiom GEO pricing.

Competitor details are taken from each vendor's own website, read on 25 October 2026.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good alternative to the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit?

Axiom GEO, if you run several sites or clients, want to know whether AI answers about you are correct, or want Claude and Google AI Mode next to the engines Semrush covers.

How much does the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit cost?

Semrush lists it at £80.22 a month per domain on yearly billing, with 25 custom prompts tracked daily. It can also be bought as part of Semrush One with the SEO Toolkit. Prices change, so check the Semrush pricing page before you buy.

Is the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit good for agencies?

The price is per domain, so ten clients cost ten times as much, and its AI toolkit pages do not describe separate client workspaces. Axiom GEO's Agency plan is £1,499 a month plus VAT for up to 10 client workspaces, each with its own client logins and monthly reports.

Should I switch if I already use Semrush for SEO?

Switch if you need engines Semrush does not list, such as Claude, checks on whether answers are correct, UK rank tracking to town level, or one price across many sites. Axiom GEO covers all four.
