AI visibility tracking tool for ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Google

Axiom GEO is an AI visibility tracking tool that shows whether AI engines name your brand when US buyers ask the questions that matter to you. It runs your prompt set on a schedule across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, then records mentions, position, sentiment, competitors, recommendations and cited pages.

Key points

  • Your prompt set holds the real questions US buyers ask, and it runs on a schedule you choose.
  • Prompts can run with a US location, or a region you serve, and results split by market.
  • Every answer is read for mention, position, sentiment, competitors, recommendation and cited pages.
  • Share of voice is weighted by position, and a 0-100 prominence score folds in position, recommendation, citations and sentiment.
  • Gemini is now asked with Google Search on and names its sources, while Claude still answers from what the model knows. Claude with search is also offered as a separate engine.
  • Results are a sample, because AI answers vary from run to run.
  • An AI visibility score from 0 to 100 sums up each run, made up of mention rate (half), citation rate (30%) and positive sentiment (20%).

What does an AI visibility tracking tool do?

It shows whether AI engines name your brand when a buyer asks about your market, and how they describe you. A normal rank tracker can't show that. An AI answer is a written reply, not a list of ranked links.

The term AI visibility tracking refers to running a fixed set of buyer questions through AI engines on a schedule and recording what each answer says about your brand.

The questions that matter are simple. Are we named at all? Are we named before or after our competitors? When we are named, is it in a good light and with a link to our site? Our guide on how to measure AI visibility covers the thinking behind it.

Why are US brands tracking AI visibility now?

Because many Americans now ask a chatbot as well as a search engine. Pew Research Center surveyed 5,119 US adults in February 2026. It found 49% use AI chatbots, up from 33% in 2024, and 44% have used ChatGPT. About four in ten use chatbots to search for information.

Local buying is moving the same way. In the BrightLocal Local Consumer Review Survey 2026, 45% of 1,002 US consumers had used ChatGPT or other AI tools for local business recommendations. A year earlier it was 6%.

The visits that do come through are worth having. Adobe found AI traffic to US retail sites grew 393% year over year in Q1 2026. In March 2026 it converted 42% better than non-AI traffic. If your brand is missing from these answers, Search Console won't show you the gap.

How does the AI visibility tracker work?

It asks the engines your buyers' questions on a schedule and reads every answer.

  1. Build a prompt set. List the questions buyers ask, such as "best HVAC company in Dallas" or "payroll software for a 50 person company". Each brand has its own prompt set.
  2. Choose the engines. Pick from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode, depending on your plan. ChatGPT and Gemini can also be run as their apps show them.
  3. Pick your markets. Run the same prompts with a US location, or a region you serve, and split share of voice by geography.
  4. Set a schedule. Prompts run on the schedule you choose. That builds a steady record rather than one-off snapshots.
  5. Read each answer. Every answer is checked for a mention, where you first appear, sentiment, competitors named, whether you were recommended and which pages were cited.
  6. Score and fill the gaps. Results roll up into share of voice and a prominence score. Prompt suggestions then propose new questions where your coverage is thin.

Most answers are collected through each engine's API. The ChatGPT app and Gemini app options collect the answer as the app shows it, through a data provider, so you can compare the two views.

What do you see on screen?

You see one view per brand, with the headline numbers at the top and the detail underneath.

MeasureWhat it tells you
MentionWhether your brand appears in the answer at all
PositionWhere in the answer your brand is first named
Share of voiceYour share of brand mentions, weighted 1/rank by position
Prominence scoreA 0-100 score that folds in position, recommendation, citations and sentiment
SentimentThe tone of what the answer says about you
CompetitorsEvery other brand named, and whether it was recommended
Cited pagesThe web pages the engine used, where it names them

The Runs view shows each answer in full, so you can read exactly what an engine said. That matters, because a number on its own rarely tells you what to fix. Filters let you look at one engine, one group of prompts, one market or one date range.

How does each engine answer?

Each engine is asked in its own way, and that shapes what you see.

  • ChatGPT is asked through OpenAI's search-enabled model, so answers cite web pages.
  • Perplexity is asked through Sonar, which also cites pages.
  • Gemini is asked with Google Search switched on, so its answers name the pages it used. This changed in September 2026.
  • Claude is asked without web search, so it answers from what the model already knows. Claude with search is also offered as a separate engine. That shows how the model itself sees your brand.
  • Google AI Overviews are read from live Google results for your keywords, which the AI Overviews tracker covers in detail.
  • Google AI Mode is read for each prompt in the US market you set, with the brands named and the sources cited.

Pew found 24% of US adults have used Gemini and 17% have used Copilot. Copilot is covered through its citations. You upload the AI Performance report from Bing Webmaster Tools, and the Copilot screen shows which pages Copilot and Bing AI cited and the searches behind them. Visits from Copilot show up in AI traffic analytics, next to visits from chatgpt.com, perplexity.ai and others.

How accurate is AI visibility tracking?

It is accurate about what the engines said when we asked, and every result is a sample. AI answers vary from one run to the next, even for the same question. That is why a schedule beats a single check.

Consumer apps can differ a little from API answers. OpenAI's help page on ChatGPT search says it may use an approximate location from your IP address to give local results. Chat history and model version can change what a person sees too. No tool can promise that an AI engine will mention you.

Who uses it in the US?

In-house teams use it to report AI visibility next to organic search. A 15-location franchise might run the same questions in each region it serves and compare them. Agencies run it across client accounts, with each client in its own workspace and white label reports on top.

Axiom GEO is run from the UK and works for US brands and agencies. There is more on the US hub.

What does it cost?

Plans are billed in pounds sterling and start at £500 a month. Each plan includes credits worth 1p each, which is one hundredth of a pound. A Perplexity query costs 20 credits and a ChatGPT query 40, and every credit spent is logged. The pricing page shows an approximate US dollar figure at the current exchange rate.

Where it fits

AI visibility tracking is the core of Axiom GEO. Competitor share of voice goes deeper on who else is named and why. AI answer accuracy checks whether what the engines say about you is true. Prompt and question research helps you find the questions worth tracking in the first place.

Frequently asked questions

What is an AI visibility tracking tool?

An AI visibility tracking tool shows whether AI engines mention your brand when people ask about your market. It asks the engines a set of real buyer questions, reads the answers and records who was named, in what order and with which sources. Axiom GEO does this across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Google AI Overviews.

How do I track my brand in ChatGPT?

You track it by asking ChatGPT the questions your buyers ask, on a schedule, and reading every answer. Axiom GEO asks through OpenAI's search-enabled model, so answers include the pages ChatGPT cited. Each answer is checked for your brand, your position, sentiment, competitors named and whether you were recommended.

How is AI visibility measured?

AI visibility is measured by asking the same prompts on a schedule and scoring each answer. Axiom GEO records whether you were mentioned, your position, sentiment, competitors named, whether you were recommended and the pages cited. It then works out share of voice weighted by position and a 0-100 prominence score.

How accurate are AI visibility tools?

They are accurate about what the engines said when asked, but every result is a sample. AI answers vary from run to run. Consumer apps can also differ a little because of chat history, location and model version. Running prompts on a schedule gives a steadier picture than any one check.

Does Axiom GEO track Microsoft Copilot?

Yes, through its citations. Microsoft has no API for Copilot answers, so Axiom GEO reads the AI Performance report from Bing Webmaster Tools, which you export and upload. It shows how often Copilot and Bing's AI summaries cited your pages, which pages, and the searches Bing ran to find them. Those searches can be added to your prompts in one click. Visits from Copilot show up in AI traffic analytics too.

How much does an AI visibility tracker cost?

Axiom GEO plans are billed in pounds sterling and start at £500 a month. Each plan includes credits worth 1p each, and every credit spent is logged. A Perplexity query costs 20 credits and a ChatGPT query 40. The US pricing page shows an approximate dollar figure at the current exchange rate.
